Theme: "Games, Games, Games"
The annual Cake Bake is one of Pack 80's most enjoyed events. The event gives the scout and his adult partner the opportunity to use their creativity to design and make a cake based on a theme. This year's theme is "Games, Games, Games". Anything related to games is fair game. The event will take place on Thursday, October 23th at 7:00 pm in the Scout House. If you have not participated in this event before, you may be surprised to see how good some of the cakes are. Be sure to bring your camera.
There will be one cake selected from each rank (Tiger, Wolf, Bear, Webelos I and II) for the following awards:
Additionally, there will be one "Best of Show" cake given to one special cake that night. Every boy who participates will receive a participation ribbon.
The event is also a Pack Fundraiser. Each cake will be auctioned* off at the end of the event. Maximum bid for any cake is $10.
Rules:
- Each cake must be designed and made by the Cub Scout and his adult partner. The scout should participate, as much as his age will allow, in the creation of the cake. Store bought cakes are not eligible for awards.
- Everything in or on the cake must be completely edible. No plastic decorations, aluminum foil, toothpicks, etc can be used to decorate the cake.
- Cakes must express the theme in some way.
- Each participant should also submit a small index card with the name of the cake and/or a small explanation of how the cake relates to the theme. The index card must be attached to the cake tray and must not have the scout's name on it.
- All cakes should be checked in by 6:15 pm.
*Parents and adult partners always "win" the bidding for their son's cake.
